The San Geronimo Valley Community Center, in partnership with Canal Alliance and Book Passage, is proud to present an evening with acclaimed poet and author Javier Zamora, in conversation with poet, memoirist, and educator Albert Flynn DeSilver, on Saturday, April 25 from 6 – 7:30PM at the San Geronimo Valley Community Center.
Javier Zamora is widely celebrated for his powerful, intimate writing that explores migration, identity, and belonging. Born in El Salvador, Zamora came to the United States by himself at the age of nine and later lived in the Canal District of San Rafael—an experience that profoundly shapes his work. His bestselling memoir, Solito, and his poetry have resonated with readers nationwide for their lyrical language and deeply human storytelling.
In this special event, Zamora will be interviewed by Albert Flynn DeSilver, known for his dynamic presence and thoughtful, wide-ranging conversations that invite both literary insight and personal reflection. Together, they will explore Zamora’s creative process, lived experience, and the themes that animate his work.
