The Living Archive: Before It Was Mine is a two-day fashion show and experiential exhibition celebrating regenerative design, cultural heritage, textile repair, and community connection, hosted at Rivian San Francisco in Hayes Valley on September 16 and 17. Wednesday opens with a runway show featuring 15 emerging and independent Bay Area designers transforming upcycled textiles, heirloom fabrics, and reclaimed materials into wearable art. Thursday opens the shoppable showroom, where guests browse and purchase directly from more than 20 designers, explore a curated textile and inspiration archive, and experience a bio-based art installation by artist Lizzie Oh, followed by panel conversations moderated by KQED's Paloma Abarca on provenance, heritage, and the lives a material has already lived. Hands-on repair activations with Roboro run Thursday.
