The Gift of Nothing, presented by Marin Theatre
This holiday season, Marin Theatre in Mill Valley is thrilled to announce its first-ever family holiday musical, “The Gift of Nothing”! Adapted for the stage by Patrick McDonnell, Aaron Posner, and Erin Weaver, with music and lyrics by Andy Mitton, directed and choreographed by Erika Chong Shuch. The Gift of Nothing is a charming musical based on the Patrick McDonnell book and featuring the beloved characters from Mutts comics. Mooch the cat and Earl the dog star in this tender and funny musical as Mooch searches for the perfect gift for his best friend. Along the way, he discovers that the true spirit of the season is “presence over presents.” With gentle humor, playful songs, and a deeply touching message, this delightful production reminds audiences of all ages that spending quality time with quality friends is the greatest gift of all.
This production is being presented in partnership with Muttville Senior Dog Rescue and coincides with the 20th Anniversary of the publishing of The Gift of Nothing children's book, which will be available for sale at the Theatre alongside the newly released companion book, The Gift of Everything.
The show runs from Dec 13 through Dec 23.
