Crucial Reggae Sundays: Free music in Golden Gate Park


On Sunday, March 2, 2025, Crucial Reggae Sundays kicks off its 5th season of free reggae music, at the historic Bandshell in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. The series’ March 2025 lineup celebrates Women’s History Month, with an all-female lineup of guest artists from the Bay Area and beyond, including March 2: Kaylan Arnold (special live performance) March 9: Ay Que Linda (Words of Divine/KSQD) March 16: DJ Sep (Dub Mission) March 23: Outlaw Yoko (Champion Sundays) March 30: DJ Cilla (Auxygen) in her debut appearance Produced by Illuminate LIVE and the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, Crucial Reggae Sundays is hosted by residents Irie Dole (Jah Warrior Shelter Hi-Fi), Guidance (Infinite Guidance Sound/Nice Up Radio), and DJ Sep (Dub Mission), and features special guests every week. Some of the artists already confirmed for this year include Prezident Brown on 4/20 and Mighty Mystic on June 1st. The series is always free and family-friendly, and runs most Sundays from 4:20 pm to 7:30 pm, from March through mid-November. Crucial Reggae Sundays is part of Illuminate’s free music series in the park. The series will include more than 125 concerts this year, on most Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday afternoons, and select Saturdays, through mid-November. Over the past four years, Illuminate LIVE has made the 125-year-old Bandshell a hub for diverse musical genres and legendary performances, with more than 600 free shows attracting nearly 1 million music lovers to the park’s Music Concourse.
