Circle on Personal Well-Being with Marilynn Preston

Join award-winning journalist and author Marilynn Preston for a 3-week circle exploring personal well-being. All ages are welcome! “People don’t want to be told what to do anymore . . . People want to figure it out for themselves.” --Alex Cooper, Popular Podcaster In Circle, where everyone is invited to speak, you might become curious and ask yourself: What does your felt sense of well-being depend on? What do you want more of? Less of? Why is progress so slow sometimes and slippage so real? You may share your thoughts about all this with others in the circle, but you don’t have to. You do have to know how to listen deeply, without commenting or judging. It’s an acquired skill. Council is good practice. Each session will include ample time for Q&A and the all-important social engagement. Sign up for the Library’s first Circle on Personal Well-Being, gathering for three weeks in a row —March 22, March 29, and April 5. The circle will start at 10:30 am and end as close to noon as reality allows. About the author The facilitator for this lively 3-week session is Reedlands resident Marilynn Preston, the award-winning journalist and author of the best-selling All is Well: The Art {and Science} of Personal Well Being. (The Covid edition). Marilynn created America’s longest-running nationally syndicated fitness and wellness column, Energy Express, and wrote it weekly for 43 years. She notes: "Personal well-being is entirely personal. Figuring it out for yourself is mandatory. It’s a path. Start young and die happy. Think about it: If you don’t do it for yourself, who will?"
