Culinary Clash – Dinner #1: Ed Castorena vs. Maliah Chin
InterContinental San Francisco kicks off the 15th anniversary of Culinary Clash with the first of three exciting competition dinners at Bistro 888.
On Sunday, March 1, rising culinary talents Ed Castorena and Maliah Chin from City College of San Francisco’s Culinary Arts & Hospitality Studies program will take over the professional kitchen to present original, multi-course menus to the public and a panel of local chefs and industry leaders.
Ed brings heart and legacy to the table, inspired by his mother, a 42-year hospitality veteran and CCSF alumna. Maliah, a San Francisco native who transitioned from computer science to culinary arts, draws from her fine-dining training and culinary studies in Oaxaca to craft bold, thoughtful flavors.
Guests will enjoy a one-night-only menu created entirely by the competing chefs, with optional Kivelstadt Cellars wine pairings curated to complement each dish.
More than a dinner, Culinary Clash is a fundraiser supporting CCSF’s Culinary Arts & Hospitality Studies Department. Each ticket purchased helps provide scholarships and hands-on opportunities for aspiring chefs.
