Understanding Your Path to Publishing

This course is designed to help writers navigate today’s publishing landscape with clarity and confidence. We’ll explore the major publishing paths—including traditional, independent, hybrid, and self-publishing—and discuss the advantages, challenges, costs, timelines, and expectations of each. Rather than advocating for a single approach, the course is designed to help each writer determine which publishing path best aligns with their goals, their book, and their vision for success. We’ll also cover what happens after that decision is made, so students leave with a clear understanding of the publishing process and the practical steps needed to move forward. Please be advised that it is best to register at least a week before the start of a class to help our instructors prepare and ensure that it does not get canceled or rescheduled.
