6th Grade Launch
Starting middle school is an exciting milestone, and we're here to help students begin with confidence. The 6th Grade Launch is a free, interactive event created specifically for incoming 6th graders as they prepare for this exciting next chapter.
Throughout the day, students will participate in hands-on activities, games, and team-building challenges designed to help them become more comfortable with the transition to middle school. They'll learn practical tips for staying organized, managing lockers and class schedules, making new friends, communicating with teachers, and developing habits that lead to success both inside and outside the classroom.
Students will also have the opportunity to connect with other incoming 6th graders in a fun, welcoming environment where they can ask questions, build confidence, and realize they're not navigating this transition alone. The day is filled with encouraging mentors, engaging activities, and opportunities to practice important life skills before the school year begins.
The event also introduces students to the Mill Street Youth Center and the many free resources available throughout the school year. From after-school programs and tutoring to recreation, enrichment classes, wellness activities, and leadership opportunities, students will discover a safe place where they can continue learning, growing, and building friendships long after the first day of school.
Whether your student is feeling excited, nervous, or a little bit of both, the 6th Grade Launch is designed to make the transition smoother and more enjoyable. By the end of the event, students will leave with greater confidence, new friendships, practical tools for success, and excitement for everything middle school has to offer.
