Sierra Symphony presents Young Artists Concert

The young artists will perform movements from three concertos while accompanied by the orchestra. Please join us at 3:00pm on Sunday, April 27th , at Foothills United Methodist Church, 3301 Green Valley Road in Rescue. Tickets are available online at sierrasymphony.org and will be available at the door. Adult tickets are $12 ($10 with cash), and as always, children and students are free. Doors open at 2:30pm. Refreshments and limited-edition Sierra Symphony merchandise will be available for purchase. Seating is limited, so advanced ticket purchase is encouraged! This year’s young artists include violinists Anabelle Wagler (18) and Divya Chandra (age 17), who will brilliantly perform the first movement of the Bach Double Violin Concerto in D Minor, and Gavin Dudgeon (age 15), who will delight us with his artful rendition of Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 4 in D Major, first movement. Finally, the audience will be dazzled by 13-year-old Emily Fang’s stunning performance of the third movement of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in C Major. The Sierra Symphony Orchestra will also perform English Folk Song Suite by Ralph Vaughan Williams, the Peer Gynt, Suite No. 1, Opus 46, by Edvard Grieg, The Banks of Green Willow by George Butterworth, and will finish the concert with the majestic Sinfonietta on Russian Themes in A Minor, Opus 31, by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.
