Take Heart: A Celebration of American Heart Month
On Sunday, February 2, Harbor House of Rochester will present Take Heart! in celebration of American Heart Month and the global fight to prevent heart disease. Guest speaker Dr. Leway Chen, head of URMC’s Heart Failure and Transplant Program. will present recent advances in treatment options and ways we can all foster a more heart-healthy lifestyle. The event will also feature two local success stories,Tom Arcara and Gary Acker, both founding members of Harbor House, and heart transplant survivors, who are still thriving 20 and 25 years later!
Additionally, Harbor House will be giving a preview of a unique new publication aimed at helping family members
acting as caregivers for a loved one who is a hospital patient. Take Heart! will not only make news and a great
heart-warming story, it will help shine a light in 2025 on best practices for preventing the Number
One cause of death in the US and globally!
