It has since been adapted by Hollywood and for the small screen. Written by Horton Foote and directed by Tim Stuff, it tells the story of the elderly Carrie Watts, who longs for her home, the small town, Bountiful, Texas. She is determined to return there before she dies, in spite of resistance from her son, Ludie and his overbearing wife, Jessie Mae. With its themes of hope, longing, and lost dreams, this is a show your family will enjoy and talk about.
