Trees for Trails
Local residents have been donating their Christmas trees to our Trees for Trails event since 1976. The Nature Center accepts trees from Christmas until mid-January, when High Falls Tree Service and Irondequoit Lawn & Landscape come to transform the trees into wood chips. Volunteers help unload trees and spread the chips, which will control erosion on our trails all year.
Dos & Don’ts of Tree Drop-off:
DO Drop off whole trees only
DO Remove bags, ornaments, wire, etc.
DON’T Drop off clippings
DON’T Drop off wreaths
DON’T Drop off yard waste or debris
DON’T Drop off after 12pm on Jan. 17
