focusing primarily on the lumbar region (low back), as well as discuss common injuries and conditions people experience both in the acute (recent onset) and chronic (> 3 months) setting. We will discuss what options are available for treating low back pain including both surgical and non-operative measures, as well as determine if physical therapy is appropriate to reduce pain and improve daily function.
Presented by Patrick McEvoy. Patrick graduated from Juniata College with a Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology. He then went onto Nazareth University where he got a Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy.
Patrick chose to pursue Physical Therapy due to his love of the science field and helping others. PT allows him to combine his passions for sports, exercise, and fitness in order to guide others into a healthy, active lifestyle and return to doing what they love. Patrick has been working in the outpatient orthopedic setting for many years and specializes in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and is certified by the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Medical Level 2. In addition, he is interested in musculoskeletal injuries of all varieties, but is mainly passionate about treating the hip, knee, and spine.
Patrick is an avid sports fan, especially of Duke Men’s Basketball, and the Buffalo Bills. When he is not in the office, Patrick enjoys golfing, spending time outdoors, and walking/hiking with his wife, dogs, and two children.
