Sunday Forum: The Telesca Center for Justice: Five Decades of Innovation
By providing civil legal representation to low-income individuals in Monroe County, the Telesca Center benefits 45,000 community members annually. The innovative model is unique in the way it melds disparate public funding with private support and volunteer efforts to address clients’ current needs and anticipate their future challenges.
Rob Brown has been an advocate for the effective institutional delivery of legal services for the community since 1977. In real life, Rob is a lawyer facilitating employee ownership of private businesses nationally. He has sung in the Downtown Church Choir since 1972.
Lori O’Brien serves as the Executive Director of Legal Assistance of Western New York, Inc. (LawNY), a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring justice is accessible to all and a partner within the Telesca Center for Justice. She has been with LawNY since 2007 and practiced in various areas of law impacting our community's health, housing, and economic status.
