o help bring classroom lessons to life. We also know educators want access to a wide variety of resources to help engage students in the materials they need to cover.
We're featuring a hands-on cardboard mini-golf challenge in The Forge and showcasing live demos for schools, ranging from Phantastic Physics to the Supercool to a slam-dunk favorite, Rat Basketball. Explore our touring exhibition Rescue—on display through January 17—and see the universe from a new angle in Science on a Sphere®.
As an added bonus, you can see a feature in The Dome as part of your visit for free!
Plus, a variety of organizations from across the state will be on hand to connect teachers with resources designed to engage and inspire student learning in and out of the classroom. You can also learn more about the Virginia Association of Science Teachers' Annual Professional Development Institute this November in Harrisonburg.
There will be drawings and door prizes for amazing goodies, and you’ll receive a coupon for 20% off in our gift shop as well as a voucher for a free coffee drink or smoothie with any purchase at our new café by Bean Sprouts.
Admission
Teachers always receive free general admission to the Science Museum, but during our Teacher Resource Fair, we're showing our appreciation for educators by giving them the chance to bring up to three guests for free, including a Dome feature!
The Teacher Resource Fair is open to public school, private school and homeschool teachers. Please be prepared to show your teacher ID or homeschool letter of intent when checking in at the event.
If you would like to add more than three guests, you can purchase tickets at the group rate of $11. All guests must be checked in at the same time.
Teacher Resource Fair attendees may get their complimentary Dome tickets onsite the day of the event (while supplies last). Look up the schedule for September 12.
Check-in for the Teacher Resource Fair must take place between 9:30 a.m.–1 p.m. Once checked in, teachers and their guests may stay until the Science Museum closes at 5 p.m.
