Refugee and Immigrant Volunteer Summit

The Refugee and Immigrant Volunteer Summit (RAIVS) is an annual event designed to empower and equip volunteers, professionals, and community leaders who work with refugee and immigrant populations. Taking place on February 21st and 22nd, RAIVS provides a collaborative space to explore critical topics such as English language support, cultural competency, immigration basics, and the latest challenges facing these communities. The first day is located at First Baptist Church on Monument Avenue and the second day is located at the Virginia Museum of History and Culture. This year’s summit features engaging workshops, interactive discussions, and opportunities to learn from leading experts in the field, including our keynote speaker, Lucas Guttentag, a trailblazer in immigration law and advocacy. Participants will gain valuable insights, practical tools, and inspiration to strengthen their impact on the lives of refugees and immigrants. RAIVS is more than a conference—it’s a call to action for those dedicated to creating inclusive, supportive communities. By bringing together a diverse group of attendees, the summit fosters collaboration, learning, and meaningful connections. Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or new to working with these populations, RAIVS offers something for everyone. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn, grow, and make a difference.
