Through a series of case studies, senior reference archivist Cara Griggs and senior reference librarian Becky Schneider will provide strategies for gaining insight into the historical context that shaped lives in the past. They will explain how to find, evaluate and interpret a wide variety of records and publications — from historical documents to contemporary scholarship — to answer your research questions. If you’re familiar with the basics of family history research but want a deeper understanding of the research methods used by historians, archivists and librarians, this workshop is for you.
