Join us for our sixth annual extravaganza of all things EV. We are assembling Richmond's largest display of electrified rides, both new and used. Pets and families are welcome to this indoor event at the Exhibition Hall on the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds.
Here is what else will be going on (details subject to change):
* A Legacy of Going Electric -- We will preview a new documentary on a team of high school students in North Carolina who converted a gas car to electric for the EV Grand Prix in Richmond 30 years ago and how the experience shaped their lives. After the screening, there will be a presentation by two of the team's leaders, John Parker and Harold Miller, and Caroline Kettlewell, a Richmond author who wrote about the team in her book "Electric Dreams." During the day, the trio will share stories and photos beside Shocker II, the second iteration of the electric car that made headlines decades ago.
* The Future is Electric -- This community art project will illustrate the interconnected technologies that are necessary to build a sustainable future based on clean energy. This project is a collaboration with Art180 and Talon 540 Robotics.
* Electrified Fun Zone for children, including Lego building and diecast car racing, and a micromobility display for adults interested in learning more about electric bikes and scooters
* Updates from the City of Richmond, Chesterfield County and Henrico County on their plans to support transportation electrification, including electrifying their fleets
* Opportunities to connect with local nonprofits, including the Chesapeake Climate Action Network, the Community Climate Collaborative, Electrifying Virginia, and the Falls of the James chapter of the Sierra Club
