Playing For Change was created to inspire and connect the world through music. The project began with the belief that music has the power to break down barriers and bridge distances between people. While traveling the world, the founders met extraordinary street and local musicians whose shared passion for music transcended language and culture. Bringing these artists together created a global movement showing that, through music, people everywhere can speak the same universal language. Artists featured in Playing For Change come from countries and cultures around the globe. By recording and performing together, they demonstrate how music can unite people, celebrate cultural diversity, and foster connection across borders. The Playing For Change Foundation, founded in 2007, expands this mission by creating positive social change through music and arts education. The foundation supports music and arts programs for children in marginalized communities around the world, particularly in low and lower-middle income countries. Through these programs, young people gain access to creative education, mentorship, and cultural exchange. By nurturing the rich musical traditions already present in these communities, the foundation helps provide educational opportunities, empower youth, and strengthen communities through the universal power of music.
