Experience the timeless elegance of the Foxtrot at Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club, the AAA Four Diamond hotel property nestled on the scenic Duke University campus. Guests will have the chance to glide across the floor in a lively and social atmosphere with a Foxtrot class led by the talented Jordan Jewell of Move With Grace Ballroom from 6-7 p.m. This beginner-friendly session will introduce participants to the graceful movements and effortless charm of the Foxtrot, a dance known for its smooth flow and versatility. Whether they are first-timers or seasoned dancers, the class offers the perfect blend of fun and finesse, making it an unforgettable experience for all.
But the night doesn’t stop there! After mastering the steps, guests will gather at the Inn’s beautifully renovated Vista Restaurant for a relaxed, intimate Q&A session with Jordan from 7-7:30 p.m. Participants will uncover the rich cultural history and origins of the Foxtrot while enjoying a complimentary specialty cocktail sample inspired by New York City in the early 20th century.
Jordan Jewell, owner of Durham-based Move With Grace Ballroom, has been a competitive dancer since age 17. After competing for Purdue University and UNC-Chapel Hill, Jordan transitioned to teaching, earning accolades and training under world-renowned ballroom dancers along the way.
