Raising Thriving Boys
Three community leaders who have personal and professional experience in the struggles that many boys and young men are experiencing academically and socially will lead the discussion. Join us as we explore these challenges as well as family and community solutions. The presenters are the Rev. Maria Uitti McCabe of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Fairhaven; Christian Garris, head of Nativity Preparatory School in New Bedford; and Bob Unger, former editor of The Standard-Times. They will share their personal stories as well as a path forward for community support for families and children. A question-and-answer period will conclude the program.
The presentation is intended as the beginning of a broader movement on SouthCoast to reverse decades of setbacks for boys and young men. A community dinner will start at 6, with the program beginning at 6:30.
