Curious about bees? Wondering what it’s like to be a beekeeper? This engaging spring workshop offers an accessible overview of honeybees and local beekeeping, designed for anyone who wants to learn more about these remarkable pollinators and create a work of art with their honey.
The session begins with a seasonal overview of honeybee life and hive management across the four seasons of our South Coast. Participants will gain insight into bee behavior, pollination, honey production, and what goes into maintaining a healthy hive. This portion is designed as an informative introduction and allows plenty of time for questions and discussion.
After the overview, we will move into hands-on beeswax crafting. Participants will create rolled beeswax candles and explore simple wax projects such as bee wraps. The experience concludes with a tasting of local honey.
Ideal for curious learners, gardeners, sustainability enthusiasts, and anyone interested in exploring beekeeping.
All materials are included, including locally sourced beeswax and honey. No prior experience is required.
