The Tracy Chapman Chapel -- a musical/spiritual experience

You've never been to something like this before. And you'll never forget this night of spirit and song! The music of Tracy Chapman is tuneful and engaging, and deeply moving. It's heart-opening, challenging, soothing and uplifting, all at the same time! With songs like "Fast Car," "Give Me One Reason," and "Say Hallelujah," Chapman's catalog touches on faith, social justice, and all matters of the heart. Our KCC friend Kim Trusty will perform Chapman's iconic songs with her live band at a unique musical/spiritual experience on Friday, April 11 at Fellowship Hall in Kingston Congregational Church. KCC is located at 2610 Kingstown Rd., across from The University of Rhode Island on Rt. 138. Special guest performers include Providence-based singer/songwriter Ben Shaw, jazz singer Paula Clare, cabaret/musical theater performer Eden Casteel, and URI student performers Louis Shriber and Ally Campbell. Tickets are $30 General, $20 for Students and Seniors. Rev. Jan Gregory-Charpentier of KCC will provide some spiritual guidance throughout the evening, which is only a few days before the start of Holy Week leading to Easter. But you don't have to be a churchgoer to have a wonderful experience at this event! All are welcome, and all will feel included. If you've been to Kingston Congregational Church's Fellowship Hall for concerts, you know that music sounds great in here! Proceeds from this event will benefit anti-homeless charities in Rhode Island, including The Warm Center. KCC is fully accessible for all patrons, with easy parking around the building. Drinks and snacks are available for purchase in the Fellowship Hall. Snack proceeds benefit The Rhody Outpost anti-hunger initiative. Feel free to bring along a canned good to donate, too. At this show Kim is joined by Joe Potenza, bass; George Dussault, guitar; Eric Hastings, drums; and Eden Casteel, keyboards.
