COASTAL BEAUTY Jeanne Tangney Solo Exhibition
Jessica Hagen Fine Art + Design is pleased to announce another exciting collaboration with Hammetts Hotel in Newport, RI. Jeanne Tangney COASTAL BEAUTY will open at the hotel’s Sarah Langley Gallery on Thursday April 3, 2025, from 5:00- 7:00pm. Working at an intimate scale, Newport artist Jeanne Tangney is captivated by the effects of light. In COASTAL BEAUTY, she simplifies what she sees by distilling visual elements of Newport’s natural beauty into abstract shapes which she then gradually develops into representational images. But her paintings far transcend technique and literal realism. They capture the artist’s profound observation of her subject and result in a heightened reflection of the grandeur that surrounds us. Tangney graduated from Rhode Island College earning a BA in Painting and a BS in Art Education. While pursuing a full-time career in fields ranging from cartography to IT security, Jeanne continued to cultivate her artistic skills. She has been recognized as an Eminent Pastelist by the International Association of Pastel Societies and Master Pastelist by the Pastel Society of America.
