Please consider joining the Cranston Public Library and Notable Works at this special event to celebrate the six poets who will read their winning poems from the 2025 Notable Works’ Poetry Contest! The winning poems focus on the theme “bridging and healing the divide that misinformation creates as it pertains to our natural environment and social concerns." Tina Cane, former Poet Laureate of Rhode Island, this year’s Final Judge, will share her thoughts about the theme and the poetry response via video prior to the reading by the winning poets.
This event will also feature The Notable Works’ Ensemble and the original cast from the recent Live Staged Reading at CCRI performing songs from Notable Works’ new musical, "Sell Division: Breaking the Chains of Perception." And there will be an open mic for poetry (first come first serve).
Free and open to the public and complimentary refreshments will be served. Registration is not required, but those who register up to three days before the event will receive an email reminder about the program. Pre-Registraion Link: https://events.cranstonlibrary.org/event/13004740.
