AHA! Night: Made in NB

On Thursday, November 14th, we celebrate the art and artists of New Bedford and beyond! - Explore and shop at the AHA! Artisan Market at 41 William Street (formerly Freestone’s) from 4:30-7:30 pm. More than a dozen local vendors will pop up in the space to share their wares and help you get ahead of schedule on your holiday shopping list. It will also be an opportunity to secure a temporary tattoo from the Glitter Witches and be serenaded by AHA! Seaport Sessions artist and luthier Matt Shimala playing indie-rock favorites on his custom-built guitar. For music enthusiasts, Matt will also have another of his guitars on display for purchase. - In addition, pop-up markets will be held at neighboring Alison Wells Fine Art Gallery, Cummings Building, Gallery X, New Bedford Whaling Museum, The Drawing Room, TL6 Gallery, and Kettle Black Gallery. The Kettle Black Gallery is a temporary exhibit space at 1 Johnny Cake Hill and will feature ceramists who use the ancient tradition of wood-firing, using Chris Gustin’s Anagama wood kiln, who will also have his work on display. Gustin is the former Associate Professor of Ceramics at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, whose work has been in collections and exhibitions worldwide. - Warm up by a fire pit and snag some tasty goodies and hot drinks from local food trucks parked nearby in Carter's Clothing parking lot. - Spot the living statue, the New Bedford Ballet, and Festival Theatre performers that will welcome market attendees and passersby. - AHA! Nights are free and open to the public, and museums, galleries, and shops will be open late. In case of rain, some events may move indoors or be rescheduled. Free parking is available at the Elm Street and Zeiterion Garages. Many participating locations will have a yellow AHA! flag prominently displayed to help attendees find AHA! Night activities. Visit the AHA! website for complete details and the most up-to-date program of AHA! events. Everyone is encouraged to check back regularly as more events are added daily. On the day of the event, printed list of programs can be found at the AHA! welcome station situated at the pop-up Artisan Market (41 William Street), the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park Visitors Center, and the New Bedford Free Public Library. AHA! Night: Made in NB is sponsored by Explore New Bedford.
