Hawk and Handsaw Farm Tour with the Eastern Rhode Island Conservation District

Hawk and Handsaw Farm is a small market farm located in Portsmouth, RI, that grows assorted vegetables, edible flowers, and medicinal herbs. During the tour we will hear about the history of the farm and the conservation practices they utilize to help the environment. Hawk and Handsaw Farm partners with the Eastern Rhode Island Conservation District (ERICD) and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to follow climate-smart conservation practices. This tour is open to anyone interested in touring a working small-scale farm business, farmers or landowners who are interested in installing environmentally-smart practices, and community members who are interested in sustainable agriculture! This event is FREE - please RSVP through Eventbrite here: https://ERICD-hawkandhandsawfarmtour.eventbrite.com. We will be outdoors, rain or shine, so come dressed for the weather and walking over potentially uneven terrain. Through ERICD’s partnership with the NRCS, we can provide technical and financial assistance to address natural resource concerns through an array of conservation practices. We will have resources and time available after the tour to answer any specific questions and provide more information on the different programs. This is an in-person event and there is no virtual option for this tour. However, if you are not able to attend in person, please reach out to us to schedule a one-to-one meeting or phone call where we can answer your questions and provide you with further information. For questions contact [email protected]. This event is in partnership with the Natural Resources Conservation Service Rhode Island. USDA NRCS is an equal opportunity provider, employer, and lender.
