About the organizer:
Dr. Shi Choong is an award-winning wedding and event planner, a former TEDx organizer and license-holder, and a former Intel engineer. When she came to the US, she faced language barriers, loneliness, and financial hardship, working four jobs to fund her college education. She graduated college as the department honoree in Chemistry and Biochemistry, and later earned her PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the nation’s top program, Purdue University, while battling anxiety and depression. In Sept 2024, Shi left Intel to pursue her true passion. Today, she’s launching this “Women Who Dare” event to create a platform to amplify the voices of women breaking barriers and embracing their authentic selves, inspiring others to do the same.
