Introduction to Trauma Informed Care


On Tuesday, April 8th from 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Oregon Care Partners will host a free, instructor-led training about Introduction to Trauma Informed Care. This class is designed to help anyone is caring for an older adult learn the definition of trauma and why trauma informed care is important in long-term care. In addition, with the increased study of the impact of care on the caregiver - in the form of stress and burnout - attention will be given on how to support all parties involved, including family caregivers, community-based workers, and providers. WHAT: A FREE CLASS for caregivers about Introduction to Trauma Informed Care. This training is designed to help anyone caring for an older adult learn more about how to identify ways of understanding possible reasons behind an individual’s thinking, behavior, and way of relating by using your knowledge. A certified instructor will share real-world experience in an interactive classroom environment and answer your important questions. WHO: This training is available at no cost to anyone living or working in Oregon.
