FRACTURE! -- an immersive math horror experience -- erupts at Experiment PDX this October

Last night, a group of math enthusiasts gathered to discuss irrational numbers at Portland’s hands-on science center, Experiment PDX. As an unintended result, a massive fracture in math known as “The ArithmeRift” has enveloped the venue. Those who have ventured near talk of cultists, deformed abominations, even cannibalism. Thankfully, agents of the government’s Situationally Unstable Mathematics Mitigation (SUMM) Division have secured this “ArithmeRift.” For now. They need volunteers -- like you! -- to enter the Fracture, confront whatever horrors await, and save our existence. FRACTURE! is an interactive math horror experience – part haunted house, part escape room, all live theater, and entirely SCARY. Groups of ten will have to use their logic, wits, and bravery to witness the horrors and solve the puzzles plaguing the Fracture. Fortunately, they aren’t alone. Mathematicians from throughout history—many with life experiences that prepared them for this kind of terror—have been pulled through spacetime to help guide our volunteers. Will they stop the foul ritual at the heart of the Fracture? Or will math be purged, leaving destruction in its wake? Only those who enter The ArithmeRift and face the threat of the FRACTURE can determine the outcome!
