Weihnachtsmarkt: A German Christmas Market
Celebrate the holidays at the German American Society's Weihnachtsmarkt featuring craftspeople and artisans selling holiday gifts. Local entertainment includes children’s performances, European Take Out Band, 204th Army Band, and Rose City Timberliners. Food vendors, homemade Glühwein and baked goods all add to the holiday spirit. A children’s activity area will offer photos with Santa. Authentic crafts and ornaments from Germany will be available for purchase along with Lebkuchen herzen – heart shaped gingerbread cookies!
German American Society of Portland is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization connecting people with German and American heritage in Portland since 1871. The German American Society offers German language classes at the German Haus since 1964.
