The Dispute
In this world premiere of a new translation of Marivaux’s delightful battle of the sexes comedy from 1744, a prince and his fiancée conduct an experiment to see who is more likely to be unfaithful in a relationship – men or women. They have raised 3 young women and 3 young men in complete isolation from other human beings. Over the course of the play, we watch as these innocents meet and experience the joys and heartaches of first love, bitter betrayal, and fast friendship.
