Join us for Weed Out the Problem, a volunteer event at Fort Pierce Inlet State Park, where we’ll work together to remove invasive Madagascar periwinkle and rattlebox. These non-native plants spread aggressively, outcompeting native species and disrupting our natural ecosystems. By hand-pulling these invaders, we help restore balance and create space for Florida’s native plants and wildlife to thrive.
All are welcome! Whether you’re a seasoned environmentalist or just looking to make a difference, your help is invaluable. We’ll provide gloves and bags, but please wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, and consider bringing a hat, sunscreen, and bug spray for comfort. Let’s work together to protect and preserve our park—one weed at a time!
Admission fee is waived for volunteers who RSVP. To RSVP, Email the Park Services Specialist at Brendon.G.Kerkela@FloridaDEP.gov
