Working 9-to-5 Bingo!

Who is PA Women Work? Pennsylvania Women Work is a nonprofit workforce development organization that empowers women to advance in their careers and achieve self-sufficiency through life-changing career development programs and mentorship. Why the 1970’s theme? During the 1970s, divorce rates began to climb and many women found themselves in a position where they needed to find a job for the first time. As women began to discover their independence and fight for rights in the workplace, a group of activists created the Displaced Homemakers Network in 1979 to create change for working women. When the network disbanded in 1993, a dedicated group of women branched off to continue the mission and launch PA Women Work. Our third annual Working 9-to-5 Bingo event will be held on May 8, from 7-9:30 p.m. at The Grand Hall at The Priory to support our mission and continue helping women achieve success. What will we do at the event? Well...Bingo, of course! On top of that, we’ll have a cash bar, a DJ playing 1970s tunes, a 50/50 raffle, yummy appetizers, and a chance to chat and connect with friends. What can I win? When you shout BINGO (and your win is verified by our judges), you will have a chance to choose from incredible gift cards for local businesses and more. Since this is a fundraising event, we will not have cash prizes - just a heads up! What should I wear? We’re SO glad you asked. You are invited to come in a themed 1970s business casual outfit. Our guests go all out, and we love seeing their amazing costumes every year! Where can I park? The Priory has a free parking lot with an entrance on Nash Street. This parking lot is across the street from the event entrance on Lockhart Street.
