A free lecture from Quantum Physics pioneer and 1997 Nobel Laureate, William Phillips, on the history, present, and future of Quantum Physics at the Carnegie Science Center on April 9. This year is the International Year of Quantum Physics and Technology and marks 100 years of quantum physics breakthroughs.
This event, in collaboration with the Pittsburgh Quantum Institute, presents the phenomenal opportunity to hear from a great innovator whose revolutionary work with his colleagues in using laser light to cool and trap atoms led them to the Nobel Prize. While the lecture will be recorded, this is an on-site event only offering in-person attendance.
