Desert Overture, Phoenix’s Premiere LGBTQ+ Symphony, presents The Sound of Science on Sunday, June 1st at 3:00 pm at the Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway, Tempe AZ 85281. Desert Overture presents a mesmerizing concert exploring the sciences through music. Music selections will highlight works about chemistry, physics, astronomy, microbiology and more. Tickets are $20 for adults; $15 for seniors; Children and Students with ID are FREE. There is a $5.00 surcharge at the door. Tickets are available at www.desertoverture.org. Desert Overture, with its more than 70 musicians, was formed in 2010 and remains a hidden cultural gem in the Valley of the Sun. The concert band is an active member of the Pride Bands Alliance, which has grown to 37-member bands across the country, as well as internationally. The group performs several major concerts each year. The performance is presented in cooperation with the Tempe Center for the Arts gallery display, “Artology,” which explores the sciences through art. Concert goers are encouraged to attend the gallery exhibit before the concert, during intermission or afterward!
