Mecurio launched his comedy career writing for Jay Leno on “The Tonight Show” while simultaneously managing a demanding Wall Street legal career overseeing muti-billion-dollar M&A transactions for Fortune 100 companies. He left his legal career behind and exploded onto the comedy scene in New York, working on some of the most celebrated comedy institutions on television (“The Daily Show w/Jon Stewart,” “The Colbert Report”) and currently works and has made repeated appearances on “The Late Show w/Stephen Colbert.” Mercurio has had specials on Comedy Central and Showtime, along with his own series on HBO, and has been frequently featured on dozens of shows on major broadcast and cable networks (CBS Sunday Morning, CNN Newsroom, MSNBC) and co-hosts “StarTalk” w/Neil deGrasse Tyson while also hosting his own highly popular podcast, “Inside Out w/Paul Mecurio,” which has featured A-list guests such as Paul McCartney, Stephen Colbert, and Bryan Cranston.
As an actor, Mecurio has been in feature films: “Johnny and Clyde,” starring Megan Fox, and “Chuck,” where he appears opposite Golden Globe winner Liev Schreiber. Mecurio also created and stars in the hit, critically adored Broadway show “Paul Mecurio’s Permission to Speak,” directed by Emmy and Grammy winner Frank Oz which can be seen live and on-line.
