Create, Sip, and Celebrate: NSUMC’s Family Advent Craft & Cocoa Event

Scottsdale, AZ – Parents, get ready for a holiday treat—without the mess at home! North Scottsdale United Methodist Church invites families to our annual Advent celebration, “Come Prepare,” on Sunday, December 7th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at 11735 North Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, AZ, 85254.
This event is all about creating your own Advent wreaths and Christmas crafts without the stress or cleanup. Families can make beautiful wreaths and festive decorations in a fun, hands-on environment, then take them home ready to display—no glue-sticky counters or glitter-covered floors required!
And because crafting is more fun with treats, the hot cocoa bar and holiday sweets table will be open all morning. Enjoy whipped cream, marshmallows, sprinkles, candy canes, cookies, chocolates, and other seasonal goodies while your kids craft, or while you relax and soak in the holiday spirit.
The Advent wreath itself has a rich history. First popularized in 16th-century Germany, the evergreen circle symbolizes eternal life, and the four candles mark the weeks of Advent—hope, peace, joy, and love. By making your own wreath at NSUMC, families carry this meaningful tradition home—without the stress of cleanup.
Pastor Leah Bergstrom says, “We want families to experience the joy of Advent, without the chaos that often comes with holiday crafts at home. Come, make a wreath or decoration, enjoy some cocoa, and take it all home ready to brighten your holiday season.”

North Scottsdale United Methodist Church celebrates the love of God through Christ by offering a 10AM ONLINE and in-person service on Sunday. Sunday school is available in-person and online @ www.nsumckids.info. They have children and youth activities including; children’s choir, volleyball, mission trips, small groups, festivals and youth groups. N.S.U.M.C. also offers ONLINE and in-person adult Bible studies, men and women’s groups
