Grab your decoder pin and keep an eye out for leg lamps because COURSE is serving up a holiday classic with a twist. The 12 Days of Christmas Tasting Menu returns Dec. 12-27, and this year, A Christmas Story is taking over the table. Executive Chef Cory Oppold, the mastermind behind COURSE’s imaginative tasting menus, is once again transforming cinematic holiday nostalgia into a culinary experience that’s equal parts fine dining and festive mischief.
Inspired by A Christmas Story, the menu turns Ralphie’s misadventures into refined, seasonal dishes that would make even Old Man Parker proud. Evening seatings are available Tuesday through Saturday, 5-9 p.m., with a special Sunday service on Dec. 21 – perfect for anyone who just can’t say no to one more round of holiday cheer.
Here’s a peek at what’s on the menu:
-You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out – A clever twist on a classic line, this dish features delicate bigeye tuna paired with crisp winter melon, bright yuzu, and a playful crunch of masaga arare for a bite that hits the mark every time.
-Secret Decoder – Psst... a delicious mystery awaits! Each table receives a decoder key to unravel the secret behind this dish, cleverly disguised as a string of numbers on the menu. **Spoiler alert: it’s tender lamb topped with a delicate lattice, accompanied by buttery beans, aromatic leek and rosemary, in a rich, savory jus.
-Turkey Junkie – A poetic redemption of that doomed bird: slow-cooked confit turkey thigh, golden stuffing, caramelized Brussels sprouts, and gravy so rich it practically sings.
-I Hate Meatloaf – Randy may still hold a grudge, but this dish redeems the name. Succulent Wagyu meatloaf meets airy pommes mousseline, tender red cabbage, and a classic sauce – it’s comfort food, but elevated.
-Oh, Fudge! – A sweet wink to Ralphie’s slip of the tongue, this dessert delivers decadent chocolate fudge with hints of coconut, toasted almond, and the bright zing of lime leaf and curd.
