BLOOM: The Art of Becoming
BLOOM: The Art of Becoming is a month-long exhibition at Fifth Avenue Foundry in downtown Phoenix, featuring the work of Arizona artist and arts educator MJ Okawa. The exhibition showcases luminous silk paintings—florals, landscapes, and iconic imagery—celebrating nature, growth, renewal, and the ongoing process of becoming.
Also on view are Okawa’s original illustrations from her recently published children’s picture book, Take Me On An Adventure, offering a glimpse into her storytelling work and imaginative visual language.
The exhibition opens during First Friday on January 2, 2026, from 6:30–9:00 PM. BLOOM will remain on view throughout the month and is available for viewing Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–4:00 PM, with evening and weekend appointments available upon request.
Okawa’s work has been exhibited nationally, including a six-month solo exhibition at Tucson International Airport, and has recently been acquired by the State of New Mexico Art in Public Places program.
