Nia Vardalos’ TINY BEAUTIFUL THINGS Coming to the Spring Garden Mill

The author, Cheryl Strayed, who was piecing together her life at the time, took over a popular online advice column. This part-time endeavor soon transformed into a captivating, heartbreaking, and even uplifting journey. These compelling tales of resilience, courage, and reaching out when you’re feeling somehow stuck, will forever change your perspective. The book that inspired the play began as an advice column in 2010. Strayed, under the pen name, “Sugar,” offered advice for two years without pay. Her commitment to honesty led her to share her own experiences in raw detail. Strayed’s honest approach resonated with her readers, making the book a best-seller and eventually it was adapted into this play by Tony Award-winning director, Thomas Kail and Oscar-nominated writer-actress, Nia Vardalos. The stage version premiered in December 2016 to critical acclaim. From the Director: “Tiny Beautiful Things has a very interesting format for a play. It’s basically a compilation of letters received by Sugar, an advice columnist, and her responses to said letters. When I first read the script, I realized that this is the kind of play that will stay with you for a long time after you leave the performance. More than anything, it’s a play about human connection and our need to feel understood.” Newtown, PA: The Langhorne Players proudly presents its upcoming show.
