Core Wine Course
The top-ranked wine course in the United States and a favorite of sommeliers, winemakers, and industry leaders.
Sundays, April 27th to June 29th, from 1:30 – 6 pm. There is no class on April 11th and June 15th.
The Core Wine Course combines the Foundation (L2) and Intermediate (L3) programs into an eight-week training in Philadelphia. It offers a complete wine education that prepares students for sommelier work, winemaking, or advanced wine appreciation.
The program covers wine regions and tasting techniques through lectures, tastings, labs, and exams. Course topics include introductions to wine regions, sensory tasting, varietal identification, and winemaking basics. The curriculum features wines from France, North America, Australia, Italy, Spain, and South America.
Upon completion, students earn a nationally recognized Level III certification and sommelier pin from the National Wine School (NWS). The credential is well regarded in the wine and hospitality industries and is comparable to those from the Court of Master Sommeliers and the Wine & Spirit Education Trust.
There are no prerequisites for enrollment. Register for the Core Wine Course to gain the practical skills and credentials needed for a career in the wine industry.
