Philadelphia's Historic Open House: Elfreth's Alley Fete Day

On Saturday, June 6, 2026, step back in time and experience living history on America’s oldest residential street! Now in its 91st year, Elfreth’s Alley Fete Day is the annual celebration where residents open their private 18th- and 19th-century homes to the public, offering a rare glimpse of life past and present along this iconic cobblestone lane. Explore how generations of Philadelphians have preserved and lived within these remarkable homes. Throughout the day, enjoy live music, historical reenactors, artisan crafters, storytellers, and children's activities that bring the Alley’s rich past to life. Whether you're strolling the street, stepping inside a home, or chatting with historians and neighbors, this is an unforgettable opportunity to experience history in the heart of the city. This year, we are also offering a commemorative semi-quincentennial collectible guidebook with admission to help celebrate our nation's 250th anniversary. 🎶 Entertainment and Performances 🏛️ Open House Tours of Historic Homes 🛍️ Local Artisans and Vendors 🍪 Light Refreshments and a Cash Bar Available All proceeds support the Elfreth’s Alley Association, which preserves the street’s legacy through year-round programming and the Elfreth’s Alley Museum at 124 and 126 Elfreth’s Alley. We can’t wait to welcome you to the Alley this summer!
