Retired Dean of Agriculture and Environmental Science for Delaware Valley University (DelVal) (19999-2008) , Dr. Jim Diamond, a 1961 graduate of DelVal University, will tell of his experience as a Peace Corps member. His presentation, “I Did What I Had To Do" will begin at 12:30PM on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at the Central Bucks Senior Activity Center, 700 N. Shady Rereat Rd, Doylestown.
Dr Diamond spent two (2) years in Chad, Africa teaching farmers new and innovative farming techniques. In addition, he spent seven (7) years travelling and working abroad in 59 different nations on five (5) continents.
He is a recipient of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau’s Distinguished Service to Agriculture Award. And taught at the Upper Bucks Vo Tech School and was assistant professor of Agricultural Education at Penn State University.
The Central Bucks Senior Activity Center (CBSAC), founded in 1965, serves the entire over-55 senior community with an emphasis on helping Seniors lead fuller richer and active lives. The Center provides opportunities for its members to participate in social, recreational, health and fitness programs, and lifelong learning activities. The Center is located at 700 N.
