"Trust God to Use You" by Nancy J Stimson of the Special Gathering Ministry
Nancy J. Stimson leads the music program for “The Special Gathering,” (a ministry for the mentally challenged) which includes music, choir, and Christmas plays.
She and her husband Richard have directed this ministry for over 40 years. They believe that a successful ministry empowers the whole person and have geared their ministry to the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of people who are developmentally disabled. An important key to their work has been to become an active part of the mentally challenged community. Therefore, their ministry has branched into different aspects of service to persons who are mentally challenged, including advocacy, education, and social activities.
Nancy has a BA from the University of Central Florida in Special Education. She also received her certification in Early Childhood Intervention from UCF.
She has been a special education teacher for Brevard County, FL and also in elementary education for the Brevard County school system and Rockledge Christian School.

This workshop is presented by "Lifting Up Ladies", a ministry to inspire women of all denominations, to grow in community, faith and friendship. Featured guest speakers are designed to inspire and help women grow in faith, as well as learning new skills and an opportunity for socializing. Lifting Up Ladies is an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) organization.
