Corpus Christi SVDP Friends of the Poor Walk
In 2024, our SVDP Conference stewarded $172K in cash and in-kind donations (groceries, furniture, clothing, etc.) to neighbors in the Kissimmee area in need of assistance. Many of these are families living in the motels on Hwy. 192 and our interventions are often the only thing between them and eviction, power shutoff, or worse. Each year, we host our Friends of the Poor Walk at Lakeside Park in Downtown Celebration. This is our largest one-time fundraiser for the entire year, with every dollar of every donation going to the cause. This year's event will include our Walk around the lake, as well as lawn games, raffle prizes, a DJ, and other wholesome fun for the entire family. Please join us, or consider making a donation. Registration is $25 and includes a t-shirt. Day-of Registration will commence at 7:30 AM on Saturday, February 22nd; our event will run from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Hope to see you there.
