What We Carry - Art Exhibition by Eduardo Gardea w/ CIRA -Center for Immigrant & Refugee Advancement
Join Ming Toy Gallery for the opening reception of What We Carry, a solo exhibition by Santa Fe–based Mexican American artist Eduardo Gardea, presented in collaboration with CIRA – Center for Immigrant & Refugee Advancement during Hispanic Heritage Month.
Through contemporary figurative paintings, What We Carry explores the visible and invisible experiences that shape our lives. Figures carrying children, flowers, water, and one another become quiet reflections on memory, responsibility, hope, culture, grief, and love. Created following Gardea's move from Nebraska to Santa Fe, New Mexico, the exhibition considers how distance sharpens memory and how the people, relationships, and values we carry continue to shape who we become.
The opening reception takes place Friday, September 4, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Ming Toy Gallery in Benson. The exhibition will remain on view through September 26. Visitors are invited to meet the artist, explore the new body of work, and celebrate the opening during Hispanic Heritage Month.
