Prospect Hill Cemetery Memorial Day Ceremony

Prospect Hill Cemetery, founded in 1858, celebrates Memorial Day each year with a public ceremony. Our speaker will be Dr. Eileen Wirth, who will talk about one of Prospect Hill's most famous "residents," Anna Wilson, who built her fortune as "Omaha's madame," and bequeathed her million dollar fortune to charity on her death in 1911. The First Nebraska Infantry will present the colors and fire a 3-gun volley in honor of those who have served our nation. The Prospect Hill Preservation Brass Band will also be present to play. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and join us for this free public event on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26th. There is no cost, but your donations support hte upkeep of Omaha's oldest cemetery. No pets please - the gun volley scares them! Learn more at https://www.prospecthillomaha.org/event-details-registration/memorial-day-observance-2025
