Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy

Director Michael Morris keeps “Mad About the Boy” light-hearted and well-balanced, and it’s a delight to see Renee Zellweger back on screen with a stellar ensemble. After her husband, Mark (Colin Firth), passed away four years ago, Bridget (Renee Zellweger) was left to raise their two children, Mable and Billy (Casper Knopf), alone. Being a mother is frequently too much to handle, and Bridget struggles with loss, which keeps her in a semi-depressive state while she stays at home. She is urged to come back to life by her devoted group of friends, and she is given a job opportunity on a talk show as a producer once more. This gives her a sense of purpose and surrounds her with a supportive group of people, including Daniel (Hugh Grant), who is eager to assist his former object of desire. After meeting Roxster (Leo Woodall), 29, in a park, Bridget finds chemistry with the young man and is eager to pursue a relationship, further inspiring her.
