“Let Peace Fall Like Rain: Songs of Hope for the Season”
With a focus on the winter solstice and new beginnings, the program features medieval Yuletide selections, including songs from the Piae Cantiones and the Llibre Vermell de Montserrat; the 15th-century annunciation carol, “Nova, nova”; Palestrina’s “Exultate Deo”; as well as contemporary pieces, including Libby Larsen’s “Natus est Emmanuel,” and Vic Caruso’s “Let Peace Fall Like Rain,” a song inspired by “The Turkey Prince,” a fable written by Rabbi Nachman of Bratslav.
